Need a Deposit
The Bond Board is a homeless charity that enables people to access private rented accommodation. We do this through providing Landlords with a written guarantee that we will pay out at the end of a tenancy if required. We also offer a support service that provides people, who need it, with assistance in making their tenancies a success.
What is a Bond?
A Bond is a written guarantee that takes the place of a cash deposit. It means that we will pay out to Landlords if there is any damage to the property or rent arrears at the end of a tenancy.
We do not help with rent in advance or admin fees, or provide cash for deposits.
Can I get a Bond?
We can only help people who are:
- On the street
- Staying with friends/family
- Hostel
- Got an Eviction Notice
and:
- On benefits or a low income.
- Aged 18-65.
- Have a local area connection (In Bolton, you must also have a local area connection, such as having immediate family residing in Bolton. If you have no local connection, then you must have lived in Bolton for the last six out of twelve months or three out of five years).
As the bond is issued differently in each area, please click on one of the following: Bolton, Rochdale, to find out how it works in the area you want.
