What Making The Link Support could do for you
If you are a renting a private tenancy in Rochdale and need some help, you’ve come to the right place. We have a variety of options to help you get things sorted. We can help you with one off problems, offer you longer-term support with a 1-1 Support Worker or meet you at our Quids In coffee mornings. We can let you know where you stand with issues such as Benefits, Debts, Housing, Health and many more. We will sit down with you and make a plan that you are happy with to get things moving in the right direction. Once a plan is made, we will work alongside you, supporting you to achieve your goals.
Here are just some of the things we could help you with:
Checking you’re receiving all the benefits you’re entitled to and helping you to apply.
Helping you to fill in forms.
Supporting you to sort out benefit problems, such as suspensions, sanctions, overpayments and changes of circumstances.
Helping you to budget your money, so that you can afford to eat, keep warm and pay your bills.
Let us show you how to use our tablets, computers and phone when you need to contact organisations such as Universal Credit or The Council, saving you money and helping you with getting online.
Get a referral to the Foodbank or help to apply to the Council’s Local Welfare Fund if you are in crisis.
Advise about national grants and help for things like furniture or reducing Gas, Electricity and Water debts.
Advice on where you stand with your landlord if you are having problems in your tenancy, such as repairs not being done and get support to sort it out.
Help to sort out rent arrears and negotiate with your landlord.
Find out what your housing options are and get help to apply for re-housing if you need to move.
Help to register with local services such as Doctors and Dentists.
Let us introduce you to other services that can offer you extra help when you need it, such as mental health and drug and alcohol services.
